KTM, only a few hours ago, has released their NEW generation, Factory Edition 450 SX-F bike. This new rig comes with a lot more than just a fresh coat of paint and a 2018 label.
A Press Kit that was released today listed a few of the changes on the 2018 factory edition bikes.
"a reworked chassis with new bodywork, an updated engine, and new suspension settings with new triple clamps to ensure its owner will rise above the competition with agile, powerful performance at the lowest weight in its class."
If that wasn't enough to have you camping outside your local KTM dealer, KTM have packed even more features into the new 450 SX-F.
"an increase in torsional rigidity for improved bump absorption, stability and rider feedback. A new aluminum subframe is 40 mm longer for a stiffer rear section. The orange powder-coated frame is fitted with color-matching frame protectors and a carbon fiber reinforced skid plate." Not to mention that KTM have incorporated a 5mm longer rear axel into the swing arm, to allow for adjustments for those looking for even more straight-line stability.
KTM has also reworked the engine and managed to squeeze another pound of weight out of it and lowered the bike an extra 15mm. The exhaust header pipe has also been tweaked a little, to allow for the removal of the header, without removing the shock absorber. The muffler has also been altered to bring the weight closer to the centre of gravity while maintaining the same crisp sound and performance. Even changes to the suspension have been made, with a new WP DCC shock absorber and a built in hole shot device.
KTM have raised the bar with this bike and are really challenging their competition to follow suit.
